Happiness researcher, Shawn Achor, breaks it all down.

It’s hard to measure happiness and success, since both of these concepts are wildly variable from person to person. Beyond that little hurdle, they are also intangible, since you can’t physically touch or quantify them and say “I have this much happiness”. It just doesn’t work that way.

However, as bad as that can seem, there’s also a hidden benefit to the intangible — you get to decide what it looks and feels like to you. You can also get started right away on improving your levels of happiness and success.
