Imagine taking your taste buds for a beach walk

Including fragrances of “dirt” “thunderstorm” and “concrete road” Demeter’s Fragrance Library definitely delivers beyond what we imagine to be possible to be captured in a bottle and considered as scent. It challenges what perfume is, should smell like and with that reminds us that fragrance is everywhere.

So did Maison Margiela’s Replica perfume line challenges the function of fragrance. What they did is building on the notion that fragrance can unlock memories. Themes such as “by the fireplace”, “lazy Sunday” or “beach walk” all awakens some kind of memory or personal experience from the past. But who’d thought you could relive that memory thanks to small amount of pheromones?

It might come across as gimmicky, but you can’t deny the poetry behind creating unexpected sensoric associations.

Recently, Netflix The Good Place introduced a wave of unthought of flavours for frozen yoghurt.
