The Web 3.0

Imagine doing your daily routine of getting on the computer to check something online, going to your computer, starting it up and going to your browser, as the window comes into view it is already displaying everything that you were looking for; Facebook, YouTube, your daily news feed, everything that you have subscribed to.

This is Web 3.0 in action. Instead of having a website each, each site is now an api service that is used to access their information from a central location, even going so far as to display info relevant to one another. This change may be gradual and has happened in some cases. Weather and news sites have slowly started working their way into social media sites as a group or service.

Since major sites get most of their revenue from ads, the transition will gradually take time until a system of ad revenue is reworked or major sites get more incentive to branch out. A major benefit would be not having to worry about as much direct traffic and instead only having to send updates to user information. Until the time we get such a major hub we still have Web 2.0 to keep us company.
