Should tech companies be forced to compensate users for the use and sale of their personal data?

If you really think so, you might as well take action from your end: do not give away your personal data!

If the vast majority of people wouldn’t give away their personal data so easily, tech companies would have to pay, compensate or give something of value to users to get their data.

I practice this basically on Facebook. For example, on my Facebook account, I have only shared my name (in a short version), my email and my date of birth. Only because those are the minimum requirements. In other words, I make it harder for Facebook to get access to my data.

If I could, I would even delete my Facebook account, but I need it for my work, and I can get rid of it.

By the way, Facebook is the social platform I dislike the most!

I like Twitter a lot more!

What do you think of all this?

Thanks for reading!
